Punjabi is one of the oldest languages, and since ancient times, remarkable literary work has been produced in it. Thus, Punjabi literature holds a significant place among world literatures. Poets of both the classical and modern eras have served the Punjabi language and literature in unique and valuable ways. After the creation of Pakistan, modern Punjabi poets introduced new trends and themes. These poets include those who write both poems and ghazals, and the effects of terrorism are increasingly visible in their ghazals, as poetry often reflects its surrounding environment and the emotions of the people.
Punjabi writers and poets have not remained untouched by the challenges of terrorism and have addressed this issue in their writings. This paper will highlight such poets and their contributions. The looting and suffering faced by Pakistani society and its people is a tragic reality, especially since terrorism began to intensify in the 1980s.
The growing presence of terrorism is metaphorically consuming the nation, with its influence spreading daily. This ever-increasing threat is now visibly affecting writers and poets across all languages.
