This study investigates the impact of social media addiction on adult mental health. With the increasing ubiquity of digital platforms, concerns about their psychological effects have escalated. Using a cross-sectional survey of 209 adults aged 18 and above, data were collected through the Social Media Addiction Scale and the Patient Health Questionnaire. Results showed a significant positive correlation between social media addiction and poorer mental health outcomes. Hierarchical regression analysis revealed that social media addiction was a significant predictor of health deterioration. These findings underscore the need to promote responsible social media use and inform mental health interventions. The study contributes to the growing literature on digital behaviors and psychological well-being.
