Abstract

Purpose:
This review explores the impact of mobile phone voice communication on the grammar of written language, focusing on how technological innovations, particularly voice-to-text tools and informal communication styles, shape linguistic norms in writing.

Approach:
The study is a comprehensive review of literature and research findings, synthesizing discussions from key studies and case analyses provided in the text. It examines how features of voice communication, such as informality and speech-to-text tools, influence traditional written grammar.

Findings:
Mobile communication fosters the adoption of informal speech patterns into written texts, challenging established grammar conventions. Technologies like voice-to-text simplify communication but often result in incomplete sentences and unstructured text. These shifts affect writing in academic, professional, and everyday contexts.

Implications:
The findings emphasize the importance of incorporating digital literacy in educational curricula. Strategies must balance the evolving nature of language with the preservation of formal writing skills, ensuring clarity and precision in communication.
