This study investigates the influence of viewing patterns of homosexual content of Netflix on the perception of gender identity of young adults. It explores the relationship between exposure to such content and changes in personal identity as well as its impact on social acceptance of diverse gender identities. Grounded in Cultivation Theory and Uses and Gratifications Theory, the research investigates how media consumption aligns with individuals' social and psychological needs. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected using purposive sampling technique from a sample size of 494 Netflix users through survey. The data were analyzed employing Cronbach's alpha for scale reliability and Pearson correlation for assessing relationships between variables. The findings indicate that exposure to homosexual content is associated with significant shifts in personal identity and an increased acceptance of diverse gender identities. The study underscores the role of media in influencing and reshaping personal and societal perceptions of gender. It highlights the importance of diverse media representation in promoting inclusivity and suggests that media exposure plays a crucial role in the evolution of both individual and societal attitudes toward gender identity.
