THE ATTACK ON QATAR BY ISRAEL: WHAT IT MEANS TO REGIONAL STABILITY AND THE FUTURE OF THE MIDDLE EAST PEACE

The recent Israeli bombing of Qatar is a major upsurge in the Middle East geopolitics and it has far-reaching consequences to the stability and peace of the region. This paper explores the reasons, short term impacts and possible dangers of a further escalation of the attack. The discussion shows the pressure on the security infrastructure in Qatar, the overall security issue of the Gulf region, and the diplomatic tensions as a result of the incident. In addition to this, the role of the international mediators and possible channels to peace are addressed with the focus on the necessity of taking the diplomatic measures to avoid the further development of the conflict. The article ends with the appeal to the international community to come up and focus more on the situation to provide peaceful talks and reduce the chances of a full-scale regional war.
