The research deals with the topic of marginalization and subjectivity from the perspective of ecocriticism in Haider’s novel Fireflies in the Mist which is written in the context of postcolonialism, showing the not only distorted position of the locality but the oppression and exploitation of both male and female. The larger portion of the story revolves around the female objectivity that is enabled through the ecocritical disposition, helping the female characters, particularly the protagonist of the story to handle the situation and get out of marginalized proxies and becoming an agentic entity. Thus, the agentic characters become the subjective entities. Therefore, the current research deals with the intended phenomenon of marginalization and subjectivity which has been researched in Haider’s selected novel from the perspective of both postcolonialism and ecocriticism, showing how the protagonist of the novel revolves around different spectacles of both oppression, marginalization and subjectivity, becoming a popular character. This trajectory has been made successful by the environmental shelters in the novel which is the major finding of the research.
